Acrylic Rendering

As the name suggests, is a render that uses acrylic (which is a type of plastic) in the mix. The acrylic means that the render itself is more flexible and thus more resistant to cracking. Acrylic render looks fantastic, can be done in different colours, and is very fast drying. Another advantage is that you can get different finishes, from smooth to varying textured finishes.

Acrylic render is either trowelled or rolled on, depending on the specific render being used but some even allow for being sprayed on. The advantage of acrylic render over other types of render is that it can be used on more substrates. Traditional cement render can only be used on masonry surfaces, while acrylic render can be applied to fibre cement sheeting, aerated concrete blocks, existing painted walls, concrete, polystyrene or other surfaces that traditional render simply cannot stick to.
